One of the unsung powers of coaching is the awareness that is created in the process of coaching. As a norm, we are familiar to being told. Teachers, our bosses, our coworkers, and friends all provide us with guidance.  If we actually heard everything that was being told, we would be amazing. The catch is the majority of us don’t hear it all.

In coaching, the coach asks instead of telling us. It is the coach’s responsibility to probe. The coach encourages thinking and learning by posing questions. The coach creates a space for new awareness by inviting the client to discover.
